About Me

I get this a lot. “Why do you like horror movies so much?” The people who love horror get it and the ones that don’t just think I’m weird for loving it. I was raised on horror films and spooky stuff. Halloween, The Hills Have Eyes, Nightmare on Elm Street, Child’s Play, and Leprechaun were my introductions to horror and absolutely terrified me. As a kid, I’d force myself to stay up late and watch Sightings with my dad. My favorite episodes of Unsolved Mysteries were always the ghost and alien ones. So, my dad, had me convinced if I didn’t listen to him that Papa Jup (Papa Jupiter) from The Hills Have Eyes would pay me a visit.

I’d cry during the scary stuff, but then cry even more when the scary stuff was shut off. Even as a teenager, I was always up for a spooky dare. Haunted park where there are supposedly demons? Count me in. Abandoned house where people had died? I’m there. Scary horror movies that were “too disturbing”? Yeah, ok. We’ll see about that. I was THE Randy (from Scream) of my friends. I sort of still am. There was always just something about the unexplained and about the horror genre that always fascinated me as a kid, and it’s something I still enjoy today.

My Interests

When I’m not geeking out over spooky things, I extend my storytelling skills into the cause marketing world. Over the course of my career I’ve worked at advertising agencies and for nonprofits. I love helping brands tell their stories through marketing and have a soft spot for social causes. As a hobby, I run a music blog called The Sound of It, where I review music and provide a platform for local and unsigned artists from all over the country to showcase their sound. You can check it out here.

Horror I like Most:

I’m a sucker for slashers, which is the low-hanging fruit of the horror world. However, look. I shamelessly love what I love, ok? Twisty horror with plots you never saw coming is also favorites.
