The hits just keep on coming over here at Horror Movie Talk! During quarantine, we've been catching up on all the classic slashers. We watched the original Friday the 13th on Shudder, and while it definitely represents the film version of pulp, it’s the original upon which so many slashers have been based. Kiggins Theatre in Vancouver, WA, is a depression era theater that has had several lives. From movie theater, to church, to antique store, and now back as a fully restored movie theater, The Kiggins has been host to hundreds of events over the years including film festivals, film premieres, concerts, lectures and private parties. They are a privately owned community hub for independent and classic films. Like most of these small unique theaters, they are struggling to survive the shutdown.
Whether you are local or not, you can support The Kiggins by going to https://www.kigginstheatre.com/ and either buying tickets to a virtual screening, or buy gift certificates to use once they reopen.
Horror Podcast for New Horror Movies
Horror Movie Talk prioritizes new theatrical releases. Usually we will have our review for a new release out on the following Wednesday. On weeks that there isn’t anything new in theaters, we’ll delve into new releases on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or VOD. Occasionally we’ll cover old classics, especially if there is a remake coming out soon.
We also take requests! Reach out to us on social media and ask us to review your favorite. We’ll put it on the list.
